Zoomer30 ::: Favorites He said that Wallace came down on him so he could not pass, Earnhardt gave him a little tap to say "Ok you beat me today " or something to that effect. The bad thing was the tap was a bit harder then he thought it would be AND it was off center so it spun Rustys car. Had NASCAR development been faster, it would not have happened. They had wanted roof flaps for the 1993 season but ran into delays. Zoomer30 ::: Favorites Also another thing to note: The area where Rusty flew is NOW paved, back then it was all grass. In this case I dont event think the roof flaps would have helped. bgxc29 ::: Favorites The thing about the grass is, it doesn't help a car get airborne any faster, but if a car does get airborne and comes back down, it digs into grass and really thrashes the crap out of the driver, as you can see here.
