Casting Audra McDonald wasn't them being concerned about being PC, it was about casting a fantastic singing actress in the role of Grace. I doubt they were thinking "we'd better make Grace black" when casting.

I prefer the 1982 movie. This one was too concerned about being PC and didn't capture the time period AT ALL.

I like this version! Someone should do an updated movie of Annie, with Annie like at age sixteen or something.

I think the biggest problem with this version is they were worried so much about being politically correct. Politically Correct doesn't belong in movies or books, because you have to get the situations right for that era. Take the actress for Grace, the secretary. Back in those days, african american's weren't ALLOWED to do secretarial work, especially for someone as high up as Warbucks would have been. Now, if the movie had been set in the 1990's, then that would have been appropriate.
