Description: April 29th, 1986 - One of the most surreal moments in wrestling history. A match between 27 year old Akira Maeda and André the Giant turns ugly as neither man agrees to lose. Maeda, who's considered the innovator of shoot-style wrestling, proceeds to shoot kick André's legs and then back off, while the giant can only stand there defenseless. After 15 minutes of this, André voluntarily lays down to be pinned, but Akira refuses. Antonio Inoki eventually comes to the ring and demands the match to end, much to the bewilderment of the crowd. |
