Kurt Cobain Aberdeen Nirvana Suicide Death Something The Way Courtney Love Young St. Bridge Teen Spirit Wishkah River
Description: Paul Yates and I visit the Young St. Bridge in Aberdeen, Washington, which used to be home to Nirvana singer/songwriter Kurt Cobain. It was the inspiration for his song "Something in the Way," and has since become an unofficial memorial. It extends over the Wishkah River, which part of Kurt's ashes were spread into after his death. |

emilynobody ::: Favorites 2008-02-08 03:14:29 Thank you so much for the information, Steve. I would like to visit Aberdeen one day to see all those places where Kurt used to live. By the way, I just happened to find the website of Kurt Cobain Memorial Committee in Aberdeen. Have you ever heard about this committee? In their website, they say their next project is to build a Kurt Cobain Memorial Park in Aberdeen. Do you by any chance know about it? As a nirvana fan, I sincerely hope they can make it happen. Aberteen should be pround of Kurt __________________________________________________
Cruiser95fm ::: Favorites 2008-02-07 19:26:51 The Young Street Bridge is in East Aberdeen, near his house. When entering Aberdeen, Turn right off of the Wishkah Bridge (the first bridge you cross) and go down one block. Turn Right and follow that street past 7-11. You are close to Kurt's House and will cross the famous "Wrong Bridge". It's on the road to the cemetery.lol __________________________________________________
Cruiser95fm ::: Favorites 2008-02-07 19:21:15 The 6th Street Bridge over Canyon Court in Aberdeen. Turn onto Broadway and go up Broadway Hill. Turn Left on 6th Street. You will drive right over it. Kurt slept on the West End, Right Side of the Bridge, at least that is where the tent & sleeping bag was found. __________________________________________________
Cruiser95fm ::: Favorites 2008-02-07 19:17:33 Try the Aberdeen Museum's online site for a walking tour on Kurt. __________________________________________________
Cruiser95fm ::: Favorites 2008-02-07 19:16:51 From Hoquiam. Worked with Kurt's Dad at Derrell's Standard Station, 8th & Simpson in Hoquiam while in High School. (1973-74). I met Kurt one Sunday when I called his Dad to help me out during a really busy afternoon. Look up my E-bay Profile (same as here) for further info. There is nothing in Aberdeen except the sign at the City entrance ("Come as you are") that has to do with Kurt. All 3 houses are still there, but the Beauty Shop that Novoselics had (where they practiced) is gone. __________________________________________________ |
